THE JULIUS' SUSTAINABILITY APPROACH

The Julius residences embody timeless design and a commitment to environmental sustainability, focusing on reduced consumption and quality. Our goal is to support society through sustainable initiatives within Julius Meinl Living, creating environmentally friendly spaces and products for future generations. Having achieved LEED Gold certification in 2023, The Julius residences further demonstrated their commitment by receiving the Green Key certification in June 2024, reaffirming our adherence to high environmental standards.

GREEN KEY CERTIFICATION

Coordinated by the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE), Green Key is a global voluntary eco-certification programme. With more than 4,000 certified hotels and other establishments in 60 countries, Green Key is the leading standard for excellence in the field of environmental responsibility and sustainable operation within the tourism and hospitality industry.   The certification process evaluates the establishments’ environmental management, energy conservation, waste management, water conservation, and other sustainable practices.

LEED GOLD CERTIFICATION

LEED, an acronym for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, is a globally recognized symbol of sustainability excellence.

The Gold certification is a testament to The Julius Prague residence’s exemplary efforts to reduce its environmental impact, enhance energy efficiency, and create a more sustainable and health-conscious environment for its guests.

SUSTAINABLE PRACTICES

Sustainability is embedded in every aspect of operations at The Julius Prague, with thoughtful practices designed to reduce environmental impact while maintaining the highest standards of comfort and care.

ENERGY EFFICIENCY

Energy-saving measures include the exclusive use of LED lighting, advanced temperature control systems, and regular monitoring of energy consumption. Freezers are defrosted regularly, and rooms are optimized during periods of lower occupancy to conserve resources.

ECO-FRIENDLY DINING

Dining options emphasize sustainability, with local, organic, and fair-trade ingredients featured alongside vegetarian and vegan offerings. Buffets are carefully managed with smaller portions replenished as needed to minimize food waste, while tap water is provided as a sustainable alternative to bottled options.

WATER CONSERVATION

Efficient water usage is prioritized through dual-flush toilets, reduced water flow in taps and showers, and weekly tracking of consumption. Rainwater collection supports garden irrigation, while all wastewater undergoes thorough treatment.

WASTE MANAGEMENT

Recycling initiatives separate waste into nine categories, with efforts to reduce printed materials through increased digitalization. Recycled paper is used for any essential printed items, and hazardous materials are handled with care to protect the environment.

GREEN SPACES AND BIODIVERSITY

The property’s green areas are maintained without the use of chemical pesticides, while rooftop beehives contribute to local biodiversity. Guests can enjoy information on nearby parks and conservation areas, along with bike rental options to explore sustainably.

CORPORATE RESPONSIBILITIES

Operations comply fully with environmental, health, and safety regulations. The property is committed to ethical practices, including being child labor-free and avoiding the trade or display of protected plants, animals, and artifacts.
